Carter Efe Reacts to Babcock Certificate Controversy
Popular Nigerian skit maker and content creator, Carter Efe, has responded to the controversy surrounding an academic certificate he claimed was issued by Babcock University.
The comedian addressed the issue during a livestream on Monday night while he and other content creators entertained fans by selling akara on the street.
During the broadcast, Carter Efe briefly reacted to reports linking Babcock University to questions about his academic credentials.
In a light-hearted remark, he joked that anyone from the university trying to reach him would have difficulty doing so, adding that they would have to pay a substantial ticket fee before gaining access to him.
He also hinted that he would soon pay a visit to the institution.
The controversy began after Carter Efe shared what he described as his degree certificate from Babcock University on social media.
He claimed to have studied Biochemistry and graduated with outstanding academic results, using the document to respond to critics who had questioned his educational background.
However, the certificate quickly became the subject of debate after social media users pointed out alleged inconsistencies, particularly the academic classification stated on the document.
Babcock University later issued a statement distancing itself from the certificate, stating that it does not recognise the grading classification displayed on the document.
The institution also cautioned members of the public against accepting fake certificates purportedly issued in its name.
Carter Efe's latest remarks have further fueled online conversations, with many social media users awaiting further clarification regarding the authenticity of the document.
