Nigerian socialite and nightlife entrepreneur Cubana Chiefpriest, whose real name is Paschal Okechukwu, has spoken about his experiences in Nigerian politics and perceptions surrounding ethnicity and political loyalty.

Speaking during a conversation alongside online personality Peller, Cubana Chiefpriest alleged that President Bola Ahmed Tinubu may not fully trust him because of his association with the South-East region and his previous support for Peter Obi.

According to the businessman, some individuals within the President’s political circle may have raised concerns about his loyalty due to his past relationship with Peter Obi’s camp, suggesting that he could change political allegiance in the future.

Cubana Chiefpriest also explained why he distanced himself from Peter Obi’s political movement, stating that he no longer wanted to be associated with what he described as “losing political camps.”

He further expressed his opinion that Peter Obi currently lacks the political capacity and broader national support required to govern Nigeria effectively.

The socialite’s comments have generated reactions online, particularly regarding issues of ethnicity, political loyalty, and regional representation in Nigeria’s political space.

It would be recalled that Cubana Chiefpriest previously declared interest in contesting for a seat in the House of Representatives in Imo State under the platform of the All Progressives Congress (APC). However, he lost in the party’s recently concluded primaries, bringing an end to his immediate political ambition.
