Isaac Fayose Predicts NDC Victory in Free and Fair 2027 Election

Businessman and public affairs commentator Isaac Fayose has expressed confidence that the Nigeria Democratic Congress (NDC) would emerge victorious in the 2027 presidential election if Nigerians are allowed to vote without interference.

Fayose, the younger brother of former Ekiti State Governor Ayodele Fayose, made the remarks in a Facebook post on Sunday while reacting to comments reportedly made by Lere Olayinka, a media aide to the Minister of the Federal Capital Territory, Nyesom Wike, regarding his political relevance in Ekiti State.

Responding to the criticism, Fayose argued that his political influence should not be judged by election outcomes that he believes were compromised. He alleged that electoral malpractice, including vote buying and manipulation of results, has continued to undermine the democratic process.

He also claimed that some of his supporters were arrested in the days leading up to the last Ekiti State governorship election, suggesting that such actions were aimed at weakening his political base.

According to Fayose, genuine electoral strength can only be measured through a transparent voting process rather than through disputed election results or court rulings.

He maintained that the NDC enjoys widespread public support across the country and predicted that the party would record a convincing victory if the 2027 presidential election is conducted in a free, fair and credible manner.

Fayose further alleged that the ruling political establishment derives its advantage from manipulating the electoral process rather than winning through popular support, insisting that Nigerians would deliver a different outcome if every vote counted without interference.

Editorial Note: The allegations of vote buying, electoral manipulation, and arrests are Fayose's claims. There is no evidence provided in the report that independently verifies those allegations, so presenting them as allegations, as done above, helps maintain balanced reporting.
