Actor Says Entertainment Industry Encourages Self-Worship Over God

Jim Iyke Says Entertainment Industry Promotes Self-Worship Over God

Nollywood actor Jim Iyke has shared his perspective on the spiritual challenges associated with the entertainment industry, claiming that the sector often encourages self-glorification instead of values that honour God.

Speaking on the influence of fame and celebrity culture, Jim Iyke argued that many people in the entertainment world become overly focused on themselves, describing excessive self-exaltation as a trait closely associated with satanism.

According to the actor, those working in the creative industry must make a deliberate effort to maintain a strong relationship with God, as the nature of the profession can easily lead individuals away from spiritual values.

He acknowledged that people of faith exist within the entertainment industry but maintained that the culture surrounding it largely celebrates personal success, influence and recognition rather than godly principles.

Jim Iyke explained that creativity is a gift from God because creating reflects one of God's attributes. However, he said problems arise when entertainers begin to elevate themselves above others and seek admiration that should not be directed toward any human being.

He added that serving personal ambition above everything else creates a conflict with genuine faith, stressing that it is impossible to fully serve God while making self-glorification the ultimate goal.

Reflecting on his own journey, the actor admitted that he had experienced moments when the admiration of fans tempted him to feel unusually important. He recalled occasions when people became emotional simply because he entered a room, saying such experiences can easily inflate a person's ego if not kept in check.

According to Jim Iyke, his understanding changed as he grew spiritually, leading him to realise that true fulfilment is found in knowing God rather than being celebrated by people.

He concluded by encouraging fellow entertainers to remain spiritually grounded, saying lasting significance comes from fulfilling God's purpose rather than pursuing fame, status or personal glory.
