Mr Ibu's Widow Denies Secretly Selling Late Actor's Properties

Stella Maris Okafor, the widow of late Nollywood actor John Okafor, popularly known as Mr Ibu, has denied allegations that she secretly sold her husband's properties and kept the proceeds for herself.

The controversy follows recent comments from members of the late actor's family about the financial challenges they have faced since his passing. A young man who claimed to be one of Mr Ibu's children alleged that Stella failed to provide him with financial support after properties belonging to the late actor were reportedly sold in Lagos, Enugu and Asaba, Delta State.

Responding during an interview with content creator King Mitchy, Stella insisted that the transactions were carried out legally and in compliance with a court order.

According to her, the decision to sell the properties was made jointly with Mr Ibu's two sons, Valentine Okafor and Daniel Okafor, and not by her alone. She also stated that she possesses official documents to support her claims.

"I have all the necessary documents, including the court order," she said. "The sale was not carried out by me alone. My husband's two sons, Valentine Okafor and Daniel Okafor, were part of the process, and everything was done in accordance with the court's directive."

Stella also spoke about her current source of income, revealing that she now operates an online jewellery business. She explained that she had wanted to venture into the business while she was still active in the movie industry, but her late husband discouraged the idea because they were both actors at the time.

She added that the jewellery business has now become her focus following Mr Ibu's death.

The widow further disclosed that concerns over security and public pressure have forced her to consider relocating from her current residence.

"I never planned to come to this place, but because of the pressure and security concerns, I am preparing to move," she said.
