Mbappe, Rodri Headline Winners of 2026 FIFA World Cup Awards

FIFA has unveiled the list of outstanding performers from the 2026 FIFA World Cup following Spain's dramatic 1-0 extra-time victory over Argentina in Sunday's final.

France captain Kylian Mbappe finished as the tournament's highest scorer, securing the Golden Boot after registering 10 goals in eight appearances. His tally placed him two goals ahead of Argentina captain Lionel Messi, who ended the competition as the second-highest scorer.

The award marks Mbappe's second consecutive Golden Boot at the FIFA World Cup, having also claimed the honour at the previous edition. The French forward further strengthened his place in World Cup history by extending his record as the tournament's all-time leading scorer with 22 career goals.

Spain midfielder Rodri was voted the tournament's Best Player after delivering a series of commanding performances that helped his nation lift the World Cup trophy. The experienced midfielder featured in every match and played a vital role in Spain's dominant displays throughout the competition.

Spain's defensive excellence was also recognised as goalkeeper Unai Simón received the Golden Glove award. Simón recorded seven clean sheets during the tournament, with Spain conceding only once on their path to the championship.

Young defender Pau Cubarsí completed Spain's impressive collection of honours after being named the tournament's Best Young Player following a breakthrough campaign on the global stage.

Ferran Torres was selected as the Player of the Match in the final after coming off the bench to score the decisive goal in extra time, sealing Spain's victory over Argentina.

The Netherlands were presented with the FIFA Fair Play Award in recognition of their discipline throughout the tournament. The Dutch side accumulated only three yellow cards before exiting the competition in the Round of 16.

Spain's World Cup success also brought a personal milestone for head coach Luis de la Fuente. At 65 years old, he became the oldest manager to win the FIFA World Cup, surpassing the previous record held by Vicente del Bosque, who guided Spain to the 2010 title at the age of 59. De la Fuente is also the first coach aged over 60 to lift football's most prestigious trophy.
