Pastor Sam Adeyemi has shared an inspiring personal experience about his early efforts to connect with Bishop David Oyedepo, revealing how repeated unsuccessful attempts eventually taught him a valuable lesson about purpose, growth and patience.

According to Adeyemi, his desire to learn from the founder of Living Faith Church Worldwide motivated him to seek a personal meeting. Accompanied by his wife, Nike Adeyemi, he travelled to Canaanland hoping to spend time with the renowned preacher.

However, despite waiting for about six hours during his first visit, he was unable to meet Bishop Oyedepo. Undeterred, he scheduled another appointment, only to experience the same outcome.

After making a third attempt without success, Adeyemi said he came to the conclusion that pursuing access to influential people was not the best use of his time. Instead, he decided to concentrate fully on the assignment he believed God had given him.

Rather than becoming discouraged, the pastor devoted himself to studying Bishop Oyedepo's books, sermons and teachings while working diligently to build his own ministry and initiate impactful projects.

According to him, that decision marked a turning point in his journey.

About six months later, Adeyemi said he unexpectedly met Bishop Oyedepo at an airport. During the encounter, the bishop warmly greeted him, embraced him and asked where he had been, leaving a lasting impression on him.

He explained that the unexpected meeting eventually blossomed into a strong relationship, with Bishop Oyedepo later inviting him to serve as a keynote speaker at several programmes organised by Covenant University.

Reflecting on the experience, Adeyemi said the greatest lesson he learned was that people should focus less on chasing influential individuals and more on developing themselves and fulfilling their purpose.

He encouraged others to discover their calling, invest in personal growth and remain committed to their work, expressing the belief that meaningful relationships and opportunities often come naturally when people excel in their own assignments.
