Former Chelsea manager Liam Rosenior has been unveiled as the new head coach of Paris FC, marking his return to football management with a two-year contract at the French Ligue 1 club.

The 41-year-old English coach resumes life in the dugout just three months after his spell at Chelsea came to an end. His agreement with Paris FC also includes an option to extend his stay for an additional season.

Rosenior succeeds Antoine Kombouare, who helped the club secure an 11th-place finish in the French top flight last season after guiding the team away from danger. The appointment represents Rosenior's second managerial experience in France, having previously impressed during his time at RC Strasbourg.

Paris FC's owners, supported by the Arnault family and Red Bull, were reportedly convinced by Rosenior's coaching philosophy, leadership qualities and ability to develop young players.

Sporting director Marco Neppe described the Englishman as the ideal candidate for the role, praising his modern coaching methods and clear footballing vision.

According to Neppe, Rosenior possesses the tactical knowledge, leadership ability and communication skills needed to unite the squad and help the club compete at a higher level in Ligue 1.

Speaking after his appointment, Rosenior expressed his excitement about beginning a new chapter with Paris FC.

He said he is eager to start working with the players and hopes to build a team that plays attractive, energetic and attacking football.

The new coach added that he wants his players to enjoy expressing themselves on the pitch while maintaining intensity and enthusiasm throughout matches.

Rosenior's reputation in French football remains strong following his successful spell at Strasbourg, where he guided one of Europe's youngest squads to a seventh-place league finish and qualification for the UEFA Conference League.

His previous managerial experience with Hull City and Derby County, together with his record of improving young talents, also played a significant role in Paris FC's decision to appoint him.

Meanwhile, Rosenior's former club, Chelsea, have since moved in a different direction by appointing Xabi Alonso as the club's sixth permanent manager in four years under the ownership of BlueCo.
